Jackalope
By Genie Webster
Well I drove across the country, four days headed west.
I didn't have much money I just took a wild guess.
And when I saw the Biggest Little City in the world
Well I thought saw a jackalope, but it was just a squirrel.
So I can't go back to Ohio.
Just tell my Daddy I'm not ready to go.
But I'm eating lots of humble pie though.
Because I haven't seen a jackalope,
And I haven't kissed a cowboy,
And I can't go back until I do.
Instrumental
No I can't go back to Ohio.
Just tell my Daddy I'm not ready to go.
But I'm eating lots of humble pie though.
Because I haven't seen a jackalope,
And I haven't kissed a cowboy,
And I can't go back until I do.
Livin' in the desert will bake you 'til you're brown.
And folks are real laid back here,
They like to hang around.
Well maybe it's because the stars hang closer to the earth
That folks come here to roll the dice and gamble all they're worth.
Still I can't go back to Ohio.
Just tell my Daddy I'm not ready to go.
But I'm eating lots of humble pie though.
Because I haven't seen a jackalope,
And I haven't kissed a cowboy,
And I can't go back until I do.
